Eventful years since its birth in 1980, C.K.M.N.S.S. Senior Secondary School, is now enjoying its youthful vigour and strength. It has risen to the status of the first ISO 9001 – 2008 CERTIFIED Senior Secondary School in Thrissur District. The fame of its quality is spreading now all over the state. May the Almighty keep on showing his blessings on it and let its fame reach the zenith in the new future. C Kumaran Nair Memorial N.S.S Sr. Sec. School had its humble beginning under the auspices of  Chalakudy NSS Educational, Cultural and Charitable society with 40 kids and 4 staff members led by Ms. Lalitha Ramaswamy in 1980 at the Town NSS Karayogam Hall, Chalakudy.

The foundation stone of the new school was laid down on 4th May 1980 by Kidangoor Gopalakrishna Pillai, the then NSS General Secretary.

The Chalakudy NSS Educational,Cultural and Charitable society office bearers Mr. P. Peethambara Menon (President), Mr. K Madhavan Nair (Secretary), Mr. P Tharanath Menon (Treasurer), Mr. E Narayana Menon (School Manager), become the main pillars – the building blocks of the school, as their sincere hardwork and earnest efforts laid the path for the growth and development of this esteemed institution.

The first Principal of the school was Mr. R Surendranath who could steer this humble institution to an established educational institution in Chalakudy.

The school got its CBSE affiliation in 1989 and the first secondary batch (18 students) went out in 1990. The then Principal Mr. S Madhavan Nair, a well known educationist and scholar in the state brought forth many modern educational theories into practice. His thoughts sowed the seeds of a child-centred school which has now become fruitful as the institution is now regarded as one of the best childfriendly schools in the state. In the year 1991, the secondary school was upgraded with 16 students in the science stream. Now the school offers a variety of options including the latest in the senior secondary level. The school has been maintaining its meritorious academic results in both secondary and senior secondary board examinations.

The academic year 2000-2001 brought forth a lot of revolutionary changes in the history of the school. The school, which was till then suffering from the primary complexes, started conquering new fields of achievement. The development of the infrastructure has given a modern look to the institution. The Management together with the  Principal has taken the responsibility  in raising the ISO 9001-2000 certified institution to the hallmark of success. From the past years of our experience and hard efforts in the area of education we have gained a class of perfection.

With an expert team of professionals we touch the  ‘Soul’ of the students and lead them into “the world of wisdom, understanding and knowledge” . It is a simple technique which we call a “Scientific Approach and Psychological understanding” by attending each and every student and their problems. This is the  modern era of education hence we have  adopted the method of providing more modern facilities.
